How we check every listing before it goes live

Four people, one checklist and about forty listings a day. What we look at, and what we send back.

Matteo Bianchi

Founder, reads most listings

Every role on Carriera is read by a person before anyone else sees it. People ask us if that is true, and how we keep up. It is, and this is how.

The salary comes first

We open the range before the title. Is there one? Is it yearly, or a day rate for a contract? Is the top within forty percent of the bottom? If any answer is no, the listing goes back with a short note, usually within the hour.

Then the level and the title

A Senior role asking for two years of experience, or a Junior role asking someone to lead a team, gets a question. We are not strict about titles, but we want the level, the work and the pay to tell the same story.

Then the workplace

Remote means remote. If a listing says remote and then asks for three days in the office, we change it to hybrid and tell the team why. Applicants trust the label on the listing, so we make sure it is true.

Then the reply time

Every team picks how fast they will answer applicants. We check it against how they did last time. If they missed it, we ask what changed before we publish again.

What we do not check

We do not judge the company, the product or the culture. That is for you to decide. We only make sure the listing tells you the truth about the job, the pay and the place.

If you are hiring, you can post a job and see this in action. Most listings are live within one working day.
